RE: california redwoods

From the Humboldt Redwoods State Park website: "To the north the Shell station in Fortuna offers a dump station, and to the south the Benbow Lake State Recreation Area campground has a dump station open in the summer."

RE: best big rig parks with wifi in N. california and Oregon??

Another one for the list: Benbow Valley RV Resort - Garberville, CA.
If you want to see the redwoods, this is a great park to do it from, and it has its own golf course.

I can't see your pictures. Their URL needs to include the file name and its extension, not just the page name.

RE: High Definition Distant network Service

If you've had DNS uninterrupted, the paperwork you have on file is enough to get the HD version. The phone rep tried to tell me that I had to resubmit the paperwork, but I insisted that NO I DIDN'T and got it turned on. Under SD DNS, you got both coasts, but under HD DNS, you can only get the coast that your principal residence (or mailing address) is the closest to. Just be forceful and if they don't want to do it, tell them you want to talk to a Retention Supervisor.

RE: Work for Artist/Sign Painter around Yuma?

There's lots of snowbirds in that area. Some might be interested in getting personalized outdoor graphics painted on their RVs.

RE: Electric converter noise

It's common for older converters to hum. The only fix is to replace with something like the Progressive Dynamics unit which is known for being very quiet. I replaced mine and the only noise it makes is when the fan kicks on, which isn't very often.

RE: Noise from batwing

Mine was banging against the roof while driving, so I got a white external Velcro patch (pile side only) and attached it to the roof where the antenna blade was hitting. No more noise!

RE: Panama City Fl Long term RV Parks?

Other than Tyndall AFB Fam Camp, which is DOD only, I don't know of any RV parks in Panama City. You might want to check out some of the parks in Panama City Beach; they're not all near water. I would imagine they all have monthly rates. Here's the RV Park review site:
Link You might also check the Panama City yellow pages for Mobile Home Parks.

RE: Vertglas gelcoat restoration products

I bought Vertglas about 2 years ago and when I read that it would need about 5 or 6 applications of the product, I decided to experiment by doing it only on my rear storage door to start. The product that comes in the kit is enough to do about a 25 foot boat. It is not enough for a MH over 30 feet. Your fiberglass also needs to be completely free of oxidation before the final product is applied, so it is not the quick solution you would think. It's a fairly effective product on fiberglass and leaves a shine, but did a poor job on the vinyl decals which were faded. They ended up looking more faded. I decided to not do anymore because of that. I also wanted to see if it would yellow over time, but it didn't. It's a very hardy product and was actually very difficult to remove when I decided to redo the vinyl on my MH. It took a lot of rubbing with rubbing compound and I even had to use naphtha to remove the Vertglas finish.
The instructions say that it's supposed to be reapplied every year.

RE: Willow got very sick - all well now

Glad to hear that your dog is doing better.
This article was posted yesterday from the FDA:Link Does Willow get chicken jerky treats? Since Wal-Mart started carrying them, lots of people, including myself, have been getting them because dogs love them. I've been concerned about the really sharp, hard points the pieces have, given that my dog has a tendency to try to swallow them whole. The hard, sharp points could easily cause internal problems.

RE: Availability for 1 or 2 months in Florida

After Xmas and New Years are over, Topsail Hill in Santa Rosa Beach usually has plenty of space until March and the start of spring break. While it does have a 14 day limit on the books, it doesn't enforce it until it gets crowded again. You might have to change sites a few times because of existing reservations. We once stayed there over 2 months during the winter and only moved twice. It's absolutely amazing to have a 3 mile long beach almost entirely to yourself.

RE: Timing for ordering from Amazon.com question

I've had good results from Amazon. When I had technical trouble downloading an MP3 file from their site, I found that they also have good telephone support. I recently bought a Nikon D60 through them. The camera actually came from Cameta Camera out of Amityville, NY. I was very pleased with the quality of the packaging and product. So far, I've been very happy with everything I got from them

RE: Nikon D80 Remote shutter help.

Thank you for making me re-read my owner's manual. With a wireless remote present, the Nikon turns the "Bulb" setting into a "Time" setting. Here's the page from the owner's manual:

RE: Nikon D80 Remote shutter help.

I have a D60, so it shouldn't be that different. Instead of "Bulb", set it to "Time" in "Manual" mode. The shutter is opened when the release is pressed and closed when it's pressed again. This applies to either the camera button or the remote button.
